Well, it has been a busy few days entertaining and therefore cooking so haven’t been busy on the blog. The garden has required some attention too as we have had quite a bit of rain so everything is growing at a great rate and has certainly done us proud in the two months since we started. We have been harvesting the lettuces, eggplants, and zucchini, while the herbs are a constant source of delight. The third raised garden bed is about to be prepared and I have some wonderful Italian herb seeds on order to plant into my mini hothouses in preparation for transplantation. Rescued several pots of flowers from the local nursery and they have revived beautifully and giving some wonderful colour to the back patio as well as attracting the local bees which is great for the garden. The purple and yellow pansies in particular are delightful. Waiting impatiently for the Daphne to flower – long ambition to grow these – and the Gardenia is recovering well after a bout of the sads. The Classic Dark Red ‘Sun Parasol’ (Mandevilla) is attracting the honeyeaters and they frequently swing by for a quick taste. Will post some more pictures of the garden soon. Over the next couple of days I will post recipes from the weekend!!
